VNGRPA Posted - 04 Dec 2011 : 8:07:25 PM

the front is lovells ssl and the rear is standards chopped in half aswell as the bumpstops chopped in half aswell.they are 20"x8.5" with 245/30ZR20
VNGRPA Posted - 03 Dec 2011 : 5:09:45 PM
put a pic of your car up for me on your 20's mate so i can see how it looks, i would roll my guards but i don't like the look of it, and yer there from photo shop a bloke from a other site did it for me as i don't have it on my com, i would think it would sit that low as i had a look at the VT in my driveway that sits on super lows the i just finished putting in and its scraping the front tyres i know its a different car but still if i went ultra lows in that it would sit the same as the other pic that you say is the height of a bagged VN here's a pic of the VT on super lows so you can see what i mean

after looking at both cars and seeing my car sits the same height as the vt i had a look at my springs and they are lowered pedders springs so maybe that's why the pic came out lower then it should ?

so yer put a pic of your car up mate so i can have a look if you don't mind
vn_t5_6 Posted - 03 Dec 2011 : 3:13:25 PM
i take it those "lowered pics" are photoshop pics,i am running lovells ssl in the front and altered standards sitting on bumpstops in the rear and it doesnt even tuck 20" wheels like that, roll the rear guards and you can get as low as you want,i can have 255/60r15 on the back with it on the bumpstops!!the pic of ultras you have there is about where a bagged car would sit when fully deflated!

yer mate you guessed it they are 10 inches and the tyres are 245's i'm not shore about the speed yet as i haven't driven it,
i don't really drive it on the roads as i would get defected id say its mainly my car for track driving/drifting/and drag racing
that's why i got the manual rather then auto, but i do have a digital turbo timer witch tell me what speed i'm doing so i will take it for a drive and let you know
kingbucktoo Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 8:34:52 PM
What is the new mag width out of interest. I'm guessing 10"
and what size are the your present tyres. & is your speedo accurate compared to a gps speed??
because your new tyre rolling diameter is slightly smaller (5mm) than my stock 15" wheels 215/60/15"
VNGRPA Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 7:09:39 PM
the mags are 19 inch with 245/35/Zr19 tyres i turned the wheel to full lock and pushed it and it didn't rub/ scrap on anything i also pushed the rear of the car side to side to see if it would touch anything and it was fine as well, i haven't taken it for a drive yet as i'm upgrading a few things on the engine but when i have finished i will take it for a quick drive and let yous know how it feels, thanks for the comments i really like the mags i think the red paint suits it well
kingbucktoo Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 6:58:14 PM
Yes I do agree with Mechknight73 the Mags look great on the car.

What size is the mag 19"x??? an tyre size

Have you taken the car for spin around the block?? any scrapes when turning lock to lock?? what about road entry from a driveway??
Jamie Bowe Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 5:17:26 PM
I actually really like that height man, you should just save your money and keep it that way, just my opinion though
VNGRPA Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 3:10:14 PM
i put them on the back and i can put my finger between the wheel and the back guard,
at the moment it looks pretty good at the height its at i might just lower the front a little

VNGRPA Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 1:59:37 PM
not yet mate but i will get them on the back and take another pic
Mechknight73 Posted - 23 Nov 2011 : 1:42:45 PM
It looks good so far. Have you tried putting on the rears yet? Shouldn't be a problem back there if they fit under the guards like they do at the front i.e. behind the lip of the rear guard
VNGRPA Posted - 22 Nov 2011 : 8:00:17 PM
OK so i got my new mags and put them on the front of my car, the tyre sits 2 inches above the wheel witch is 50.8mm and the super low springs and shocks sit 50-60mm lower then stock and the ultra lows are 70mm lower then stock witch works out to 2.7 inches after seeing a pic of Jamie's car witch sits on super lows with 17 inch wheels compared to mine witch has 19 inch wheels i guess i will have to go with super lows unless i want to roll the guards, here are some pics

(I really need to wash my car) hahaha

Also as I have probably said a few times ( :P ) make sure that the panhard you get is adjustable while on the car. Makes it so much easier.
kingbucktoo Posted - 08 Nov 2011 : 11:11:00 AM
If you lower the car don't forget to replace the Panhard with an adjustable model, make sure you measure the clearance to the guards it should be even. If you lower the car with the original Panhard rod it will push the axle towards the drivers side and maybe scrape you new shiny mags on the guard, maybe not straight away but under hard cornering!!!!
VNGRPA Posted - 06 Nov 2011 : 7:52:23 PM
nah mate mine doesn't have IRS its got the live axle with Fe2 suspension,
i will take my car to a suspension place and see what they have to say as i live pretty close to king springs
at 300 odd each i don't really want to go through tyres, thanks for the info mate
Mechknight73 Posted - 06 Nov 2011 : 3:15:19 PM
I've forgotten, does your car have IRS at the rear? If it does, there are some limits to lowering. Having seem many VRs with IRS, they scrub out badly, and the wheel alignment appears to "bow" if they're lowered too much. End result: fast tyre wear on 50% of the tread. For what you can get away with, tie a string to the strut so it's parallel with the top of the arch on the guard. Stretch it out and tie it to a stake. Then have a mate push up and down on the strut, and take a note of your clearance, with the 19 inch wheel bolted on. this, and talking to a suspension specialist like Pedders should be able to tell you what you really want
VNGRPA Posted - 05 Nov 2011 : 7:10:10 PM
here is a pic of the new 19's
i will take a pic of them on my car on Monday to see what height i want to go to

VNGRPA Posted - 05 Nov 2011 : 3:58:05 PM
hahaha well i went to start it today and the mat sensor and map sensor wont let me start it i guess thats what i get for not playing with her haha
Jamie Bowe Posted - 04 Nov 2011 : 11:43:27 PM
Yea bro get scrubbing and paint a few bits around your suspension and stuff and it will look sick! Your poor car misses you hahaha
VNGRPA Posted - 04 Nov 2011 : 3:48:51 PM
I'm kinda sick of 17's hahaha and i also want to make my car look better then my sis car witch is a 1998 au ford but even with my stock 15's it looks better then hers as she's got a ford and mines a Holden, and yer i have decided to get off my lazy behind and tidy the car up a bit eg wheels, suspension, brakes, tinted windows, front bumper things like that
Jamie Bowe Posted - 04 Nov 2011 : 06:46:01 AM
You might just be able to pull off ultra's, you could mod it but if your willing to, with my SL's i'm driving 15's right now and they arent far from the arch.

You should just use the 17's with SL's man, unless your 100% on turning it into a show car
