I came across this site - http://www.motec.com.au/fueltest/

the results are very impressive

What fuel do people use - has anyone used V-Power Racing and what results did you have?

I filled up a tank and gave it a bash and i got better miles and more torque

the motor will run cleaner but on a standard engine you will notice little to no differance

vortex 98, you shouldnt need injector cleaner with that, the higher octane should do it .
but yes, thats the petrol for me

I used to use Ultimate but i get more kms per tank on the V-Power racing so it's worth the switch in my opinion

Is shell really that bad huh, i've sort of had the feeling that it's the worst out of the lot. Just by the way the car runs, but I have a shell servo right across the road so I usually go there.

its a lot cheaper on a regular basis, cheaper fuel = cheaper quality

i don't mind shell petrol but my car runs on anything . i only use unleaded cause i didn't notice any difference in power on other fuels . but when i ran at calder i used optimax and i ran a 15.9 stock vn manual (not stock any more)
now hoping for a 15.5 or less.

i use Ultimate but when i use petrol from shell or other places my engine doesn't run right the reason why mobil fuel is so good is that the put engine cleaners in there fuel eg fuel injector cleaning and other stuff

v power fuel and the like are only high octane because of the ethanol added. commodores' fuel systems arent affected by ethanol unlike newer mainly korean cars. everyone is better off adding a bottle of metho to their tanks and filling up with unleaded, youll get a higher octane than bp ultimate and v power etc. if your going to the strip fillup with unleaded and add half a litre of shellite ;)

Cheers,
Nodg.

And i just read the motec writeup on v power racing fuel, and for starters they used a 4 cylinder which responds alot more than a pushrodded single cam motor that is designed to use 91 ron fuel. Not to mention it had a motec piggyback which would advance the timing making use of 98 ron petrol so for a vn 6 or 8 cylinder that has had no ecu tune then 91 ron petrol is all you need

Cheers,
Nodg.
