things like this I can only say do it properly , buy a diff centre! www.VNCommodore.com Support Site will not be held accountable for any damage or injury, there for like I said above either buy a centre or a mini spool even, just check with you state on the mini spool but they might be illegal! As for a welded diff , not a good idea can be as dangerous as playing with traffic! As for the vaso never herd of that 1 b4 ? But hey you lern somthing new everyday! |

thats cool, welded ****loads of diffs in the past, just bored and wanted some opinions. dont worry i aint gonna give the site any heat by sayin 'they made me do it' i think minispools are defectable, but in the end they have the exact characteristics of a welded diff, its just that welding it is easier....

I,v done my fair share of welding as well what I'm saying if a locked diff is very unpredictable! I know I sound like a bit of a prik .. I am lol.. when you get these same questions about doin things half assed, it frustrates the fuc out of me and y people like doing things the dangerous way, not only to them selfs but to others on the road is beyond me!! Like I have said b4 save ya bucks and do it right you'll be happy u did in the long run! Thats imo.. |

advantages- constant 2 wheel spin, faster take off, better burn-outs, rips killa doughnuts dis-advantages- tyre wear, hard to make slow turn manuveres, extra stress on axels/ tailshaft, pretty scary in the wet
these are the main ones, someone will probably inform me of the others.....bahaha |

another disadvantage of welding a diff is the welds :) slag breaks off and flies around your gearing, which in itself is bad enough, BUT WILL HAPPEN. and if some weld breaks off (likely to happen) that will jam up your rear end. no matter how fast you are going at the time too lol. i wonder if thats why they are illegal? haha welding diffs should be left for the paddock racers that are only meant to last a few races |
