| flooding from the back or front m8? your fuel filter might be fully jammed up and the back pressure has caused a line to split? a s1 has the thermostat housing at the back of the motor behind the throttle body, the s2 has the thermostat at the front, thats a easy way of telling! |

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

possibly dodgy electrics causing one or more cylinders not to fire, do you have a check engine light coming up on the dash? are you loosing coolant? could also be leaking water intot he combustion chamber causing one cylinder not to fire properly and have vapours flowingthrough the exhauts...
is the car doing anything else we should know about? when you rev it does it splutter and carry on? |

first step is to find out what code was logged, look into the how-to section for info to do this. this will point in the direction of the problem (hopefully).
Black smoke is unburnt fuel, so it blows black smoke just on start-up, then it just runs like crap? locate your fuel pressure regulator (behind fuel rail) now follow the baccum hose to the manifold, remove it, place some tissue underneath and wait a while....if there fuel dripping/pouring out of there the regulators stuffed.
other than that ill hold any further suggestions until you find out what the code is, its pretty simple all you need is a paperclip to short out the aldl diagnostic connector. |
