Im quite interested in registering a domain name aimed at being an online commodore spares site with a community forum on the side.
At the moment im doing a survey to see what you would like to see in an online shop, if you would ever consider buying from an online shop, and anything else you may want to add.
Cheers.

An online shop with a forum like this would be awesome. Somewhere you can ask advice and check prices with other members. Being a clueless female buying spare parts I just have to take the word of an auto wrecker for the price of parts, I have no idea if i'm being ripped off. I would buy parts off an online shop if I knew it was the right part and price. Also not to deal with the dodgy creepy auto wrecker guys!! (the ones in my area)

Ok ill explain my plan that i originally wasnt going to tell for a week.
Ive registered a domain name and got web hosting, lists from suppliers/panel shops/etc for trade price stock, have the latest phhb forum software and online cart/checkout software.
My main aim is to start a local/national online web site for discounted commodore stock and have a community forum for general/technical discussion.
Ill leave the guesswork up to everyone, see if you can find it on the web. if noone finds the domain name ill let yous know when its ready for business |

Definitely a lot of new old stock and resto parts. A lot of it is getting hard to find and expensive- if you could undercut other stores you'd be in good stead.
Cheap postage is always a winner aswell so I'd look into striking a deal with a national courier as one way of lowering postage costs.
Good luck with it. |

my aim is to make the site cheaper than most/all online stores which now includes ebay, ahev you noticed how much commodore prices are gping up? i could of bought a set of rims for a NEW astra with tyres for 200, for a set of crappy pursuits with decent tread your looking at 400+.....
for me parts isnt an issue, i know panel beaters, wreckers, etc personally so i can get either a bargain or trade price, and since theres no staff to pay, fees, etc... customers will end up getting the better end of the deal without leaving their home.
If i can attract people to look at the site all over aus then it will be a success for sure, its just getting the workd out
ive started on msn, yahoo, google and hotfrog for advertisment.. the main link to the site at the moment will be throught the ebay shop, which SHOULD get looked at once in a while once i get my price list and get them up.
So no hasstles with the webpage??? does everything line up on peoples machies??? ive tuned it on my laptop (widescreen) for 1024x768 nd 1024x800 and looks fine on my pc.. |
