Hi Again....... Just following up on my radiator question, also, the overheating symbol on dash board has been coming on,but the temp guage needle, hardly ever gets off the cold position,it might just get under quarter mark,if left idling for some good 10 minutes, but other wise, runs extrmely cold, but overheating symbol is coming on,anyone got any ideas??????....Fitting new radiator today, and going to attemp this bugger of a job removing the thermostat,grrrrrrrrr..... What ive read in last 12 hours, its a nightmare of a job to do,but i think the thermostat may be stuk open, and thats why the car is runing too cold, wish me well, lot of swearing coming....... P.S. The radiator did have a crack in tank, thats why im renewing it.... Cheers......

Never belive what the dash says in a vn, if it is the coolant light your talking about, it measures how much coolant is in the system.
Could be a faulty sensor, or is the radiator a little empty? |

im fairly sure the sensor only works for how empty the radiator is. i wont lye im not 100% so i wont lead you on. the person to ask is on forums.streetcommodores.com.au , i usually dont like that website for many reaons but speak to 'commodorenut' he knows just about everything to do with earlier model commodores.
IF the light is showing for temperature reasons, it will probably be the leak in the cooling system as air is allowed in engine temp will go up |

| Theres 2 temp sensors behind the water pump, 1 near the injectors (iat) one on exhaust manifold (p2) and 2 on throttle body (tps & IAC motor) |
