Howdy Trizo , I have a similar problem with L3 dash ? wont stop beeping for 5 mins.
it was suggested by a holden mechanic that it could be seat belt not on warning or
headlights on with door open buzzer . this has driven me nuts aswell ? but at this
stage i have not seen a sparky as i think it may not be a cheap fix. im still looking
at removing the speaker that drives this horrible noise , does anyone know where it is ?

Same thing happend to me driving from St Arnaud (nice littel back water of a town) back to bendigo. There is a level crossing seems it was neccessary to bring it to peoples attention. they have put several speed bumps puts one hell of a jolt throught the car. car started beeping. beep beep, beep beep, beep beep, beep beep beep beep beep beep. and reapeats the whole time the "press remote" light flashes. I dont have a remote. I have been trying to find out what all the beeps are for.I know its part of the audible warning system.

it only makes a sound (vn-vp's) for the handbrake being left on, headlights on with ignition off, low fuel, low coolant, low oil pressure, speeding with speed alert on... and thats it i think.

So could be low on fluids, faulty sensors or anything, never heard of the problem before in vn-vp's.

Cheers,
Nodg.

was there that much sufistication to have seat belt sensor? door and headl lights I can understand.

the speaker is in the bottom centre of the dash you have to take the from cover off to get to it. you'll have to excuse the terminology but on the less sophisticated dash there is a reset button, on the lvl3 dash there is a lack of button and it is just in behind there. I didnt pay much attention to see if it pluged into anything or if it was soldered into the main board to complete a ciruit. inwhich case you would be stuck with it

and the sound got a lot louder and played through the speakers and subbies .
im sure the people in front of me were about to pull over (ha ha he)
this warning system could be a real headspin ? i hope someone , somewhere can fix it.
all the tradies ive spoke to have no idea but they let me know how annoying it is.

Thanks V8VNCalais , i'll see if a wire is loose in there ! if not i will look at the dash and try and remove the speaker .
im not much of a sparky so luckily i need a new dash anyway ( no temp gauge ), lets hope i can fix this one ? Thanks nodg
all sensors are working except temp sensor which i replaced 3 months ago , all fluids are not a problem.
