Ok, so as the title says since I have had my VP my heater has not heated up. It is lukewarm but will not get any hotter... We have replaced the switches as that's what we thought was broken and that did nothing...

There is hot water going through the pipes under the bonnet to the radiator and into the heater but once you get into the dash the heater pipes are still cold and do not warm up..
Could this be because of a blockage or heater core is stuffed?

Any help would be good as we are stumped and if we can figure out what needs to be done we can fix it ourselves or send it to the mechanics to fix it telling them what we think needs done.. As we want some idea...

Also what does your car temperature sit on??

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

The pipes under the dash for me did not heat up, in the end i had to unblock the hoses running from the heater tap to the heater core , now the pipes under the dash are hot!, the heater tap is located front left of the engine , has a little round brass cap at the top of it, with a thin suction hose, 2 of the larger hoses run from that to the back of the engine bay into the firewal/dash these hoses were blocked on my car, it is very easy to break the heater tap when removing the hoses from it, as it is only plastic , so be careful /gentle, you can remove the 2 hoses from the back of the motor goign into the dash if u cant remove them from the heater tap , once u remove the 2 hoses from the back, you can flush from there ,

When you turn the settings from cold to hot (beside the stereo/radio) this open/closes the heater core under the dash. Check the the metal rod is still attached to the heater tap. To check this look under the steering wheel near the heater pipes that come in through the fire wall and go under the dash, there should be a metal rod with a thread at one end that attaches itself to a plastic looking leaver..that is the heater tap thing (also one in the engine bay) if this is connected then id say a blockage other then that or the thermostat isn't letting it heat up enough. My vn has bloody hot air coming out of it......lol only after i changed the thermostat though

don't forget the vacuum switch that sits on the strut tower just behind the battery. That could be jammed or the vacuum line off.

Be careful when playing the hoses with this piece. It is plastic and with heat tends to become brittle.

after leaving my car for a few months, and trying to get her going again, i cant get the heater control to go from cold to hot. as i turn the dial, it starts getting stuck and wont go past the half way point. had a look at where the rod from the dial goes to, and it looks like the lever is jammed. any ideas how to free it up. i tried wd40 etc, but cant get it to move.
