Can petrol from different places affect your car?

I filled up at an IGA petrol station and my car ran like a piece of crap. I drove to Canberra and It usually is fine. I can overtake with ease and its a fast, smooth drive.
Last time it seemed to have no Power and I had to push it to go fast.
It just felt different.

I only think petrol had something to do with it as I filled up before I left at Woolies and it felt like normal again and the drive home was really good (minus being stuck behind 2 trucks and an L plater for 20 minutes)

I buy fuel from the IGA place regularly but don't do long trips with it.

What do you think? Or Do cars just have 'off' days?

fuel can vary from place to place mind you it is fairly well regulated now with how much ethanol ect is allowed into the tanks. you can get crap batches of fuel and it will make you car run like sh1t, usualy the car will cough and ping its azz off with crap fuel!
