Hi all, i am a new member of the website, so i thought i would start off by telling a bit about my car which i inherited from my grandfather at the beggining of this year. When the car came into my possession (May 2008) it had 84,000km on the dial (genuine km as my pop was the only owner). The car is as straight as with very few marks on the paint thanks to the fact that it was garaged from day one. Since May 2008 i have made a few upgrades and changes to the car. Firstly i had it serviced by my friend who is a mechanic. This service involved a full radiator flush, new spark plugs, oil, front brakes, and a change of brake fluid. Second up was getting the windows tinted dark. REALLY DARK!!!! I had a retro fit of the airconditioning done by an auto electrician, which involved removing the old and now illegal airconditioning system. After driving around with only 1 tape playing over and over again, i decided to upgrade the "old wireless" as my pop used to call it. A Kenwood deck with IPOD kit combines nicely with my 6x9's. I think my pop would have been looking down on me at this point, either shaking his head or crying tears of laughter! Around the same time, the exhaust decided it had gone for its last drive (**** IT WAS LOUD THOUGH). Had the mid and rear muffler replaced with stock standard genuine exhaust. The first month of spring saw me get a new set of 17x7 wheels to replace the standard wheels. A week of driving with the steering wheel vibrating caused me to have the shocks replaced, so in went some new low riding Boag Shocks and Springs. Sits alot better now, and the handling is awesome!!! This service by my friend also involved the addition of a K&N pod filter. The sucker GOES OFF!!! It now sounds like i have darth vader under the bonnet and it added a bit more grunt . Shortly after, i had a performance chip put in. Idles better, and increased rev's improved the cars top end. With the help of various levels of sandpaper, autosol, and about 30 hours of elbow grease, i now have a polished alternator that looks pretty sharp! When i recieve my order for polished rocker covers next week the engine bay will just about be complete. I know what you guys are all thinking! (With all these changes to the car, why the standard exhaust?). Well that changes this monday! After replacing the mid and rear pipes only two months ago, this monday this will all be replaced with a set of Pacemaker extractors, stainless steel hi flow catylyctic convertor, and a straight through muffler. Cant wait to have this done! Oh one other thing i forgot, the roof lining was sagging, so off to the detailer it went, and in with a new roof lining she came back. Anyway, i thought i would take the opportunity to tell you guys a bit about my new pride and joy, so thats me, and i am off!
