How do you mean the ride is not good over bumps?? Is it very "bouncy" over bumps or "jarring" or something like that??

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

Go to each corner of the car and push down on each corner a couple of times to compress the suspension and release. What happens?? Does it keep "bouncing" a bit or when you let it go does it just stop moving??

If it bounces then thats not a good thing, struts would need to be fixed.... Maybe suspension not the best... The thud noise may be your exhaust hitting the underbody of your car... check how close it is to the underbody... I know mine does this lol Going to get a bracket put on so it stops... Also how fat are your tyres??

its definitly not the exhaust, the sound is from the wheels, and tyres are only 205s, i know a mechanic that will look at it with me after the long weekend. when i have a look ill take some photos.

How did you go with your mate?? I reckon the bushes too.... Just replaced mine and made a huge difference... Make sure you get someone to put a little weld onto the new bushes cause they usually dont fit as good as the last ones...

possibly rack ends or steering rack. somtimes you strut leg caps can come loose allowing the strut insert to move inside the leg.
