What is the operating temp like?? If it is unusually cool running this will cause a slightly higher fuel consumption. If so change your thermostat.
Maybe give it a good service.
What sort of driving do you do mostly town or highway?? Also what you you get out of a tank usually??
You may also have a slight case of leadnium righty hooficus (TRANSLATION - heavy right foot )

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

I reccomend changing your 02 sensor if you havent ever done so , they can give you really bad fuel consumption when they are old .

Just a thought on the O2 sensor
Be sure it gets plugged in the right way.
If its done wrong you will burn heaps of fuel. like about 250km to a full tank on highway driving.
You will smell the unburnt fuel if its wrong, and see an oily smudge on your rear bumper after a short time.

TDK its amazing

High fuel consumption can aslo be caused by poor brake servicing. If let go the slides on your calipers can sieze stopping the caliper from releasing properly.

New oil, leads, plugs, and all other preventive maintainence stuff... Tighten exhaust, t/b, manifold bolts to correct torque spec, new sensors like the guys have suggested as they give wrong readings after a few years of sevice. Reset ecu? try that and get back to us.

Cheers,
Nodg.

forgot to mention, a good blast of throttle body cleaner in the intake and iac valve at low rpm is good to dlush out carbon depsits on the tip of the injectors thus improving spray pattern, it can also clean the combustion chamber but be warned on high kilometre motors sometimes the carbon and gunk is the only thing holding the rings together and it will start blowing blue smoke lol ! but should be fine dont over rev it and give it a few long bursts. a can of nulon tb cleaner is about `0 bucks...

Or even if you can find a bottle of 3 bond engine cleaner from repco/coventries that ****s even better!

Cheers,
Nodg.

yep just expose the throttle body mouth by un doing the clamp on the end of the t/b, remove the p;astic pipe (just shove it out of the way without removing the other end of the piping (airbox end)

Worth a go its really amazing how much of a difference it can make it terms of throttle response and fuel consumption.

Cheers,
Nodg.
