Hey every1, starting to get a bit frustrated. Ever since I had the new motor put in I have been having trouble starting it.
It keeps turning over and doesn't seem to want to start, it takes me pumping the accelerator at times to start it. When it finally does start it idles extremely rough and after a few seconds it idles perfect, it also lets out some dark smoke which stinks of petrol.
I have replaced the spark plugs, idle air control valve, TPS, new fuel pump.
When I take the air box and air hose off the throttle body, the whole section has a strong smell of petrol.
Also when I first put the motor in the injection noise was there and now it has gone again.
Any help would be very appreciated.

have you checked all your injectors? are you using the same ones that were on the old engine? if so check you've got the wires securely on

Just be thankful you got two legs to stand on and hands to grab sh*t with!

thanks for replying, yeah I have checked all the injectors, I'm not using the same ones that where on the old motor, the wires are securely on. I have kept the old engines injectors and fuel rail in case I needed it though.

When I said about injection noise it was a type error, i meant induction noise :)

sounds like an injector leaking fuel or the vacuam diaphram on the fuel pressure regulator may have a hole in it pull the vacuam hose off and turn the key to ignition on and see if any fuel comes out the vacuam hose.if not lift the fuel rails and injectors out the manifold and turn the key on and check for a dribbling injector

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply, been busy last few days.
After all the money I have spent trying to fix problem, I went out and spent $3.00 on a fuel hose, got a free injector off my mechanic and swapped fuel rail and injectors and it is now fixed. YAY
