Hi guys and girls, hope everyone on here is well! I have a question regarding VY-VZ V6 heads. The heads on the VY-VZ Buick V6 motor would flow better than the heads on the VN Buick V6 motor. Would the VY-VZ heads go straight on to the bottom end of a VN Buick V6 Series 2 motor? Would it be a straight swap? I am interested to know as i have been given a set

| not without major work they are off ecotech not buick which has a lower deck height on the block meaning the neads sit lower on the ecotech and the inlet manifold will not fit and the cam has the lobes in the wrong order due to the position of the valves in the later heads would be a major mission if they bolted on for a start |

Lol! Thanks for the "heads" up on that one delcowizzid. Shows how great this site is that within a couple of hours of asking my question, it was answered with an educated answer. I really appreciate your feedback delcowizzid. I hear that mace engineering do a set of VN V6 heads that are ported and polished for $1300 and exchange of a set of standard heads. |

defo no, like delco said different head bolt cbolt config and deck size on the block... the money your spending to do that you could do so much more, a good port and polish on your existing heads with a high lift gydraylic lifter set and it should go alot better.
For about 1500 you should be able to drive in a performance workshop and drive out with the work done, then youll need a slightly different tune off greenfoam to suit (but standard one will do for meantime without causing major engine damage, shouldnt run lean) |

was the vavletrain (lifters etc) upgraded at the same time as the cam? I would be if it wasnt.. in your current situation your best bet would be to get your existing heads taken off, rebored and polished, refitted, then get in touch with greenfoam so he can change the tune for you unless your running a tunable kalmaker or some****?
Whats your full engine specs, i kinda remember searching through threads ages ago but cant be bothered :) |

| Lifters, retainers, double row timing chain, Crane valve springs, and a live dyno tune were all done when the cam was put in. Yella Terra roller rockers, pacemaker extractors, hi flow cat, 2.5 inch straight through, B&M stage 2 shift kit, Yella Terra 71mm polished throttle body, K&N pod, and a Mace Engineering pod cold air enclosure. Also running a PBR group A 330mm brake upgrade. |

| Your best bet is to get yours taken off then ported out... by the sounds of things your looking for as much power as you can get. go for the head work, a custom smaller headgaskets, then your looking at custom manifold and the option of twin throttle bodies etc... have you done anything with the diff?? i siggest a LSD with 3.45-3.9 :) |
