Hey guys, been a while.

My vn has started playin up over the last month or so. But today its at its worst.

Starts fine, whether cold or hot. But wont idle or will idle very very low. So gotta keep revs up to keep it going.

Started dyin occasionally a couple of weeks ago but most the time it drive like normal, then progressively atarted runnin rougher and rougher at idle.

Any ideas? I imagine its a simple dead sensor or something but which one. Have done ecu reset which didnt help

Just be thankful you got two legs to stand on and hands to grab sh*t with!

could be a faulty IAC (Idle air control valve) This controls the amount of air into the engine while at idle and the throttle body closed.
Do you have any code coming up at all??

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

By code I mean the flash code you get when you go into the diagnostic mode.
How did you go??

Didnt get it done, weathers turned to custard and i aint got no garage! Hopefully tomorrow. It makes sense if its the IAC though because ive now noticed it sorta coughs/jolts if i take my foot off the accelerater while driving. Which would be throttle body closed?

Will look at it tomorrow and run it by my mechanic then hopefully this time tomorrow itl be purring again.

On a side note, ive given up on the current vn and am about to take ownership of a vn gts body, its in pretty good nick to. One of the 500 to come to nz. Will tranplant my engine/box and all the trim ive modified into it. Will get some pics up when I have them

Sorry it took so long to get back. I took off the throttle bottle and cleaned out the IAC and the tube it sits in. Gotta say that it did wonders. Run's like new! Cheers VNSVLE, your a legend

HI there - i have exactly the same prob with my VN, can anyone tell me how to best clean the throttle body (ie: do i need to dissemble, what to clean it with?), and where is the IAC located? and to clean or repalce this? Chur, si.

the iac is plugged in under it from memory, you need to take throttle body off but thats about all the dismantling involved. I just used crc to squirt mine out and then dried it off with a soft cloth
