Hi guys,
I know that I haven't been a regular poster on here for a while, and some of you may not even now me, but i thought i would announce that I have traded in my beloved VN. She was originally purchased brand new by my late grandfather. He left the car to me in his will and i have owned her for 2.5 years. She gave me many great memories, but the time had come to part with her. I just wanted to thank everyone on here for all the valuable information and fun chatting that i have had with you all over the last 2.5 years. And finally, I would like to pay my respects to my late grandfather and say thanks to him for being the special and kind man that he was. You left me with a great example of how to live a great life and for that i thank you. I love you pop, and thanks

You have a good memory buddy! It was a tuff decision. I went the blue oval buddy, but it was a very empty feeling driving her for the last time. I did do the car proud, my pop proud, and i think i did all VN owners proud. I kept the car despite the preference for the blue oval, and i did that because it was a lovely car that my pop looked after. I drove it in a Holden cruise and also had it in the home brewed section of Street Commodores. She was a great looking car and i loved it not for its badge. She got many comments that were along the lines of "what a great example of a VN" and "you don't see them like this one anymore". It was a car that i was worried to park anywhere too long because it had that "steal me look". Thanks for replying to my post dryVN and remembering me on here because i have been pretty quiet on her for the most of 2010 apart from the odd posting. You guys on here are champs and you are always willing to help and it has been an honour to own a VN, and this is coming from a "blue blooded man". The humble VN has plenty of character, thats for sure! |

Good to have you around buddy!! Hope you drop in every now and then and say g'day. Hope your new car gives you the joy the old VN did and the bastards didn't rip you off with the trade :) So whats your new weapon of choice?? |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

Thanks VNSVLE! I will still log on here and say gday buddy. Learnt alot in the 2.5 years of owning my VN, so im more than happy to tell of my experiences as i did do alot to the car, from brake upgrades through to cam upgrades. We all know what the good old dealers are like. The trade was not what i think the car was worth, but what can you do. My weapon of choice is a late 2007 BA MKII XR6 Falcon. Six speed auto, 18 inch factory rims and all the creature comforts. Still has close to 6 months left on the new car warranty, so that is always a bonus. It isn't your usual run of the mill XR6 as it the exterior body kit and wheels came from Herod Motorsport. She is smooth to drive, but i will miss the tough drive of the VN. |

Thanks lemusa! The time had come buddy. I was a proud Blue Oval owner of a VN. And i also hope that it gets looked after the way that i looked after the VN, because VN's that are in the condition of my old girl are few and far between. |
