Steering rack should be fine. A VR column should be ok, as the VN-VS are fairly interchangeable. The only thing you might have trouble with would be the connectors for the indicator/dipper stalk; I don't know what kind of connector sits on the end of that one, whether it's any different to the VN.
Another thing to remember, a VN-VS lock cylinder is identical. There will be a ring around it on the VR for a VR's key transponder. Unnecessary on a VN other than to cover what would otherwise be a hole. |

well basically, i managed to completly mangle my old wheel while trying to get it off, (and i tryed almost EVERYTHING!!!) and its stuffed. lookes kinda like a steering yolk for an aircraft atm. so i can get another column(?) from someone for 50 bucks if i take it out myself. I know that putting it in is a whole other story but i still have my old one in atm so ill reuse all the other things thats i can thats already on my current one. Im going with my brother to take it out and well see what i do need to take in terms of the steering column when we do. Sorry for the confusing message. Adam |

It's ok. The only thing you have to be careful of, is how you like the yoke up with the spline on top of the steering rack. Pretty sure there's some kind of cotter pin arrangement to hold it in position. |

pulling it in and out is real easy. 3 (i think) bolts holding it under dash and then a couple at the steering box. Its obvious when you see it |

So do you need to get under the car to undo the column from the end or through the engine bay? And is it terribly hard or time consuming to do? Oh and im talking about taking it out of a VN this time not a VR. Im recking my other executive cause its to fuked... |

Depends on how long your arms are lol. the "spline collar" is attached at the top of the steering column, but it's a matter of comfort as to how you undo it. You could get it from either side, but it make take some reach to get at it from the top. |

Sounds like you have a full metal jacket installed. Not sure how to remove but as they are a theft deterrent i could not imagine it to be a simple task. Your ignition barrel will be standard and this device goes over standard. Now I would advise anyone that does know how to remove the full metal jacket please send a PM to voodoo92 and please DO NOT post it on the board. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |
