hi to everyone how are you? I have just had a cassette player fitted by a reputable dealer but when the engine in the car is running there is a buzzing noise going through the speakers.Do I really need to have the alternator changed over ?(suppression devices did not work).

If the alternator is starting to struggle then you'll typically hear a high pitched whine, not a buzz, at least that's how it's happened to me (twice).
Without hearing the noise it's hard to say what it might be. Does it change pitch with engine speed? If it does then I'd suggest it's a power problem, if not, I'm going to say that there is something not too healthy with either the wires running from the head unit to the speakers, or actually inside the head unit itself.
Now for the obvious question: why did you get a tape deck installed? |

Restoring a VN to mint condition? Damn, take some photos of how it all goes. It would be good to see it. I've got mine, and it's stock as a rock, but that doesn't mean that it's mint. It needs a bit of work to get it all back to being perfect again.
Sounds like a hell of a job.

| you could try fit a noise filter to your sterio they are about $15 from super cheap or autobarn they go between the power for your sterio and your battery\ignition usually that will solve the buzz noise you get |

If you check the first post at the very end of it is says
"(suppression devices did not work)" So it's already been tried. |
