Gm aren't that stupid, at least I hope not. I wish we could talk Bill Hamel out of retirement, because we need him more than ever. Like Mike Deveraux, he was an American CEO, and a Cadillac man to boot. However, he had a keen understanding of what really makes a Holden. It was because of his sustained push at GM headquarters that the last model on his watch, the VT, got to be as good as it was. GM USA wanted to do it the cheap way, but Bill stirred the pot and pushed hard.

When the VR Statesman came out, everybody looked at Bill (being a Cadillac man of course) He said Ï swear, I didn't twist anyone's arm to make it look like it does. (distinctly Cadillac-esque) They came up with it all on their own, but I do drive one myself."

GM knows that RWD will always have a place in a global lineup. South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, America, Mexico, Canada, China and Japan just to name a few. Those markets will always want a RWD car, and even the most ignorant of morons in GM cannot ignore those kind of sales figures
