Hi All, and apologies if I'm posting to the wrong forum...

Looking for clues on tracking down a new (or working) fan speed resistor for my VN.

I've think I've exhausted all the online options, but before I head to the wreckers to try my luck, thought I would quickly ask here.

Thank you

Just for the benefit of others, and to answer my own question, I ended up sourcing and buying 3 units from across Australia.

Try;

http://www.speedspares.com/

http://www.kumbak.com.au

http://www.eastcommwreckers.com.au/

...and;

http://www.holdent.com.au/PartsRequest.html

Edit: Average cost $20 plus $10 for overnight courier.

Which one did you end up getting??
Did you go standard or solid state??

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

They still sell the solid state resistors at Holden dealers, and they're more reliable than the older coil units

I sourced two second hand standard units.

Holden and repco assured me that neither type were in stock or available.

If you can point me to the specific Holden dealer that has the solid state model in stock, I'm still keen to source a new one for my spares cupboard.

cheers
