hey all i recently bought an autogage 5 inch tacho off ebay and it has the brown wires looped apprently its setup for a v8 so how do i go about setting it back for a v6 ? looks on the net and it really did give me some possitive info so rather see what i can find out cheers
Hate to ask the obvious question, but there are definitely no switches on the back of it? some tachos have a switch, to change the resistance level between a 4, 6 or V8 input. Some use the coil as the input. Some use the alternator. I'm speculating, because I've never installed an expensive tacho in a car before.
Mostly they use the coil or the tacho output from the DFI module (brown wire in the case of the VN) for a signal. As mechknight has suggested the monster tach's I have seen have a switch on the back. Some you have to take the rear housing off to get at the switch. Throw up some pics someone may have played with one before. Cheers
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
