if i remove the air-con compressor motor from my '90 VN would it improve performance of the engine? if so id hav to purchase a smaller belt. are these available? or would i hav to get one specially spliced?
The air conditioner compressor when the clutch is not engaged is basically a free wheeling pully that changes the direction of the belt. Yes you have lost a microscopic amount of hp but that is nothing compared to the power steering pump, water pump and alternator, so just leave the AC off when you want more performance.
would removing air-con help with performance?
