Hey guys have a vn v8 running 286 cam and stg 3 memcal engine holding about 2000 rpm when you lift foot of accelerator as car was also auto before engine rebuild now manual so makes it difficult when cruising it does eventually come back down to normal idle after a couple of minutes anybody have any ideas

Make sure your throttle body is returning to neutral. If it is not disconnect your throttle cable and rev it by hand and see if it snaps back like it should.
If it does then your cable is the issue and you will either need to replace it or free it up with some lubricant.
If it does not snap back even with the cable removed then it will either be your return spring lost tension or your throttle body gummed up.
Give it a good hit with some throttle body cleaner and see how it goes.
Does it happen all the time or only when you are driving??
 

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
