Posted - 23 Oct 2011 : 8:50:03 PM well its all in now,and is a bit difficult to get used to at first, but im getting there,it feels as though more power is getting through and not wasted in the dampening area of the clutch disc, will be interesting to see how it goes on the pad at narrogin revheads with the back brakes clamped and a bigger shot of nitrous(125hp) |

Posted - 06 Oct 2011 : 6:47:36 PM Dunno what's available for commodores but I'd be looking for multiple clutch plates over a brass button ie twin/triple plates. especially for drag racing What part of your clutch failed?
Also depending on brand of clutch "heavy duty" might be a sales pitch as opposed to strength of the product.

Posted - 05 Oct 2011 : 8:56:05 PM Not sure about cars, but in truck they can be a real problem. Far from being stronger. some ceramic clutches are in fact more fragile if not driven the proper way. They don't like "gradual" engagement, the way you would with a conventional clutch. Trucks only have them because they take longer to wear, not because they'r any stronger than the old bonded asbestos ones |
