hey guys im looking at turning my spare vn into a burnout car and or drag car, and it had just the v6 in it, i was wondering if a 308, not a 304, if a 308 will will go in and how hard would it be to do??

Would be the simplest way of doing it. Of course it would be a completely stripped down harness, doing away with the ECM, most of the instruments as per stock and possibly even the interior controls. Although in stripping it out, it becomes lighter and more able to smoke tyres.

Ignore the injection, the headers and the heads, and the 304 in a VN is very similar to the VL. A stock VL 304 had a Carter 4 barrel carburettor, and was the last of its kind. Look around the engine, and things like alternators, oil filters, ignition, engine mounts and timing covers are a straight swap

I am assuming 308 to reduce electronics and maybe a cheaper option considering it is a purpose built burnout car.

why a 308 mate if you don't mind me asking ,the 308's are a good motor but the 304 with a high rise manifold with the right injectors, exhaust and tune will make heaps more torque then the 308

Should drop straight in. I believe the block/engine mounts are identical.
