BTW, if you do get them, make sure you get the gaskets as well, cause not all extractors come with them, but they are a nesessity to help seal them. That and silicone :P

No VT is. VN - 125kw, VT - 147kw. The VT is 300kg heavier which wouldn't help.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

@thunderstruck, gasket goo is your best friend!
vt as everyone knows has the ecotec emisions control unit as well as fine refinement to reduce vibration and harshness. the s1 vt's used the ecotec from the vs which was untouched(the slowest commodore v6 out) wasnt until the series 2's that they had refinement as well as less restrictions. as vnsvle said its the weight that mainly puts it behind but the motor and gearbox also has a major part if it was a s1.

Cheers,
Nodg.

crikey I have missed a bit! I just finished putting that lexcen motor in a calais, I did find 1 difference in the motor !!! the manifold on the lexcen motor is bigger! I found this out when I tryed to swap the injectors over , and low and behold the injectors of the orig vn engine were smaller and couldnt be fitted onto the lexen because the manifold is to big! the in jectors were also longer on the lexen!!! But in the end I got it runnning, and like a kitten I miust add! anyways l8r I'm realy hung over and my hands are shakey lol !

the lexcen had a run with me at waneroo race way ,, I ate it for brekky ! but I have to say over the 200mtr mark it jumped me a bit but the vn came bak even stonger!!!! I have done this and I'm dead set about the manifold cover , its the 1 thing that I would of never guested! It had me furked for ages (about seven stubbies ) then like I said I gice the injectors a good flush through and made the fire while not on the car , and flushing at the same time ! fixed the injectors but I'm yet to see this motor in a few weeks time when he has had all the seals and sh1t done!!! We will have another run but I'm not getting my hopes up! The lexcen motors have soome nice top end ballz!

I was like that for a while but i keep everythign in tip top shape, and the next minute something else will break im rebuilding the car and after my new auto the only parts orginal on my car is the engine itself, new paint, bumpers, grille, badges, lights, garnish, tint, wheels, brakes, diff, panhard rod, and snapped an axle the week before, auto(this week hopefully), all suspension components, exhaust and manifolds, tailshaft and uni's, mirros, interior seats, centre console, pedals, dash and cluster, alternator twice, alternator support bolt, air copressor bearings, radiator, throttle body, map, iac, oxygen sensor, injecters and rail, power steering pump, tension pulley, harmonic balancer and cas, stereo, roof lining, wiper motor, wheel bearings, steering wheel, handbrake, fuel pump and tank, thats just about what ive replaced in the last 3 years, the cars body and motor is the onloy original parts!

And im just a bit bored with the v6, its not like i dont like them they dont do anything for me anymore. there just as fast as a 5 litre but theres no oompf.

Cheers,
Nodg.

I serviced my car yesturday and it really needed it. after i changed the spark plugs- irridium to standard electrodes, i got the usual effect from installing new plugs but the car was behaving a bit strangely. wasnt anything other people could notice, but i went and reset the ecu and its surprising the differance in tuning between the colder irridium plugs and the standard burners.
