its the life you get out of the xplod components that isnt very good, ive owned a cd player(buttons stopped working), sub and speakers(coils absolutely shat themselfs and made a horrible sound, and i keep the parcel tray clean from dust fyi) and they all crapped themselfs within the year. also depends how much you turn it up its always as loud as it will gop or nothing for me, my current alpine setup has been in for 2 years and hasnt failed me once, even when i left the accessories on all day a few months ago in the heat and the cd player was so hot you could barely touch it, left it for 5 minutes and away i went. ive heard heaps of people bag alpine for their high prices but you get what you pay for. they could have shaped up within the last few year but thats my 2 cents worth from when i bought my sony gear. |

Not that i am for or against but i have had a Xplod headunit for about 8-9 years and it has never missed a beat. It hasn't had a good life it was origionally in my VL which had no A/C which meant windows down and got lots of dirt workin. Used to come home with about an inch of bulldust coating the interior of the car. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

Sony xplod head units arent too bad, but like nodg said, the speakers, subs all have a short life. It is honestly worth putting in a few extra $ and going for a more trusted brand like Alpine, I've never heard of one failing unless the owner treats em like shiot. |

Have a look at the instructions it should give you an exact volume that you should build your box to use that and some of the maths you learnt at school and then just make it to the shape that you want it. You want to find the equations for volume. |
