| taking the cat out will only yield a very small power upgrade, not worth it! you can also lose power by doing this..... go to the technical section on the forums and read my how to on making more power! anyway welcome to the club any questions dont hesitate to ask.. |

The cats a bad idea, but upgrading the brakes is ALWAYS a good one!
If I were you- I'd be looking at the VT brake upgrade...seems fairly cheap, won't restrict rim sizes and works well from all reports.

welcome mate, thought your name was MILD for a second, was like hey he's not new!
leave the cat in mate, if you remove it, you could be done, plus your car will stink like **** in heaven. VT brake system is good, im in the process of looking for the parts myself, remember, theres no use having all that power if you can't stop it too. |

The VT brake upgrade varies as to how you go getting the parts... there seems to be a certain amount of flexibility on how you actually do it. I can't give too much advice as I haven't got around to doing it myself yet... its on the list of things to do ;)
Do a search on here and you should come up with a couple of decent write ups on it mate.
As for the cat- you are going to do what you want to do regardless of what we tell you, but I really do advise that you don't just hollow your cat out... depending on where you are, the EPA may create all kinds of dramas for you. Its a big fine. Cheapest option of getting a different sound out of your exhaust is changing the cat to a high flow and the muffler to a glass packed job. If you're going to do that, may aswell get the 2.5inch exhaust aswell.
It will **** all over your mates with a knocked out cat. |
