I no so many people ask if these chips are any good, are they worth it. Iv decided to say screw it! I got a bit of spare cash, so I am buying one just to test it out. Iv ordered one from "Blackstar7000" and it should arrive within the next few days.

Page says it should add 8-12 KW for a good condition motor (mine is). That would be barely noticable to the feel. Should decrease fuel consumption too, and get extra 50km a tank. Also says greater performance can be achieved if u have CAI and high flow exhaust. I have both plus high flow cat. And a few other mods to the engine.

Lets hope this memcal doesnt screw my engine (unlikely) but honestly im doubtfull it will make a highly noticable diff. Ill do a write up after iv had a few drives and let everyone know so we can finally say yes or no to these cheap ass memcals!

hahahhahahahah waste of time and money

better of with a set of diff gears and a spool

i bet i could get more power with a resister and a few crimps then the chip would give you

but serroisly you are better of getting mods first like exhaust intake diff gears shift kit stall converter
then when you have all of them buy a cam and get a tune to suit done buy a reputable chip tuning place not ebay

most of the chips on ebay are hsv spec so expect your stock v6 or v8 to yield the same result, bear in mind you need an intake setup and exhaust to be on par with the hsv's

i got my chip off blackstar7000 and i am very happy. it is no supercharger but it changes the motor and it is so much better the biggest thing i noticed is smoother power delivery. which makes the motor feel allot healthier when its being thrashed . i think it was worth it for a cheap mod. my car has extractors,2 1/2 inch sports exhaust, guttered cat,CAI,k&n air filter, 5lt T.B.,

aadamsvn91... question how old r u? I dont need your advice, because all your showing so far is lack of any brains. Look at my first post, i said im doin this to lay the topic to rest (if people take my word). "you mr ebay chip will never get my advice again" yes resistors are better than my ebay chip hey.... Grow Up.

Anyway back to business.. nodg u couldnt tell if it was standard or not until u got it. Taking the chance i guess like i did.

The chip went in today and i noticed smoother take off, which made it feel like it had a little more go but thats only after one drive. So far my opinion, anything to smooth out the rough V6 cant be a bad thing. This seems to work well so far.

the hsv tunes in the v6's lean the mixture and advance the spark maps which is giving you more off the mark, as you know anything that makes your car run smoother and more responsive will give better power results.
and yes i didnt know if it was good or not i took a big risk, first one from holmart was an absolute dud, cost me 185 dollars and made the car worse than the stock tune. however i did get a good one this morning from ebay and the car starts heaps heap easier and smoother, idles smoothly and revs easier, also pulls more smoke off the lights!!

Cheers,
Nodg.

hell yeah! about to head off on one now ;) piss ups always fun

Just lettin everyone no, i think the chip was actually worth the money. So far itsmade the engine go alot smoother, idle is HEAPS better and the little flat spots the VN used to have are smoothed out and it accelerates heaps nicer. So it has made a differance, you wouldn be able to feel it performace wise with so little power gained but the car drives heaps better so in my opinion cheap mod worth it.
