not really just make sure everything is sitting flush and is bolted down evenly

Cheers,
Nodg.

Get yourself some natural cure silastic and put some where the main gaskets join those small gaskets at the front and the back of the engine just before you put the manifold back on. Dont do the bolts up fully just do them up loose and let the silastic cure for about 15 - 20 minutes and then torque to correct tension. Make sure it is a natural cure silastic though ( 1080 comes to mind but it should say on the side of the tube) as the others use an acidic catalyst which buggers up some sensors(as I found out the hard way with my old VL).
If any of this does not make any sense let me know and i should be able to do up some pictures for you.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

hey thanks for the help

i have a gregory manual was looking at it and doesnt seem too hard

with this sealent...would ultrablue be alright...says sensor safe on it and have used it on other parts of engin

also while its out im replaceing all the O rings on the injectors as im dismantalling the manifold to give it a good clean with some carby cleaner as its pretty dirty inside i imagin

@ trizo yeh dont want anything in me nice "gunk free" sump lol however i am replaceing oil and coolent after i do this (natually) probly a few days after just to make sure it aint leaking anymore.as gonna put them in the other day but noticed the inlet had water/oil at the back comming out around the bolt so i tightened them up (to correct torque (spelling) they were loose but i think it mad it worse lol

thanks again man it does make sense too lol

Ultrablue is fine to use. The typical applications actually states "Automotive intake manifolds" and says will not harm oxygen sensors.
Good luck and let us know how things go.

well i done it......and..and...all went well lol

as soon as i took the inlet manifold off i could see that the gasket (original) was nearly blown to pices.....some was getting sucked down into the inlet valve, the gasket was covered in oil and water that has mixed pretty good so it wasnt from me dimantaling it), anyway so after dismantaling the inlet manifold (injectors, throttal body etc..) i gave it all a good soaking in carby cleaner and it was filthy as!

put it all back togeather with new injector O rings (as onld ones was starting to crack!!) and new inlet manifold gasket and vally gasket (DUH!)lol

and now it sounds quieter then it ever has at idle and driveing even with the balance shaft bearings fu#ked....yes... i think i found the left over noise the car has (from doing timeing chain) .....i wigled the balance shaft around (not much movement...if not any) BUT it does have a bit of a clunk that sounds like the noise i have =( also lifters are probly noisy aswell but meh lol its still a hell lot quieter then most vns around here lol infact it is really quiet now then when i got it...when i got it i was like hmmmmm that sounds BAaaaaaDD, but i was up for the challenge of fixing it (new motor) but this one turnd out being a very strong motor)

so yeh im happy all went well and the car has more responce to the throttal (probly cause of cleaning the sh!t out) it was fun doing, took about 5 hours cause i cleaned it and diassembled it etc.. (might do me mums vn as it looks even worse then what mine did!!!

now all i gotta do is wait a few days (wednesday) and put some good oil and coolent in as i want to make sure it aint gonna leak me expensive oil and coolent out lol (dam nulon crap costs heaps)

cheers guys
