Depends on the mufflers- different sorts have different tones.
I run one muffler and I'm happy with the tone. I'd be interested if anyone here could let us know about the advantage of a second muffler. |

Should see if you can get a bit of extra money together and get some extractors while you are at it. It'll make the world of difference- high flow muffler and cat and it's all good.

I have a 2 1/2 inch stock cat back system. there is no exhaust note. It has the lope at idle but under exhaleration there is nothing but engine noise. this system has the cat an oval muffler infront of the diff and the round one behind the diff

I am going for a Hi flow cat and also have a red back rear sports muffler to go on. Im trying to decide if I need that muffler infront of the diff. It really depends on the note you want to get out of it. I noticed that some guy has a 3" straight out fro the cat, I have no idea how this sounds. I would have thought it would be too loud and it would lose power under load as its too open.

Really? Mine has no drone at cruise whatsoever. As soon as you put your foot into it you can't talk over it or hear the stereo but at cruise you wouldn't know it's there.

lol, i'll see how lukey goes and get back to ya trizo =P yeah im hopin that it makes a bit of a difference... also i was talking to a bloke (yeah thats right, some random bloke) and he said to me that twin exhausts are good for the more powerful engines, but for say a VN V6 you would most likely lose power, due to the back pressure issue... like in the exhaust theory thread not long ago... so for me and my little V6 a twin exhaust is all hopes and dreams im afraid! *hugs twin exhaust pipes and walks away*

i was told that back pressure on these v6s is nothing to worry about i have my pipes coming out the side near the front wheels with no muffler and there has never been a problem, except for when i melted the staging lights lol
