I'd say we'll need more information than that mate.
So it drives fine and doesn't give any error codes? Does it seem to 'stall' when it comes down to idle- like if you are stopping at traffic lights? |

like mild sed dude some error codes , but have a look at your gassketts , sounds like a vavum leak, but then again could be the crank angle sensor? Hit them codes m8 and let us know!

I had this problem when I first got my car on the road. There is an error code logged but the engine no longer stalls. It just had moments would run ok then at lights it would idel at about 500. they really dont like to sit for 2 years not running. I do have error codes but havent had the chance to determine them yet

Vacuum leak is a possibility.
I had a similar problem- I think mine was a bit rarer, but it turned out the base idle screw had worn and would work it's way out over time, thereby lowering the idle until it wouldn't idle at all. Did it gradually deterior rate or has it just started happening like bang? You shouldn't really play with the base idle screw but it might be worth a look if all else fails.
Also, check the cleanliness of the IAC- spray a slug of throttle body cleaner up it! |

| V6? Have you disconnected the battery recently? I found mine stalled when coming to a stop or when slowing down for a slow corner, not a good time to lose power steering! I worked out it's the idle air control valve needing to be reset. With your car running, run through the gears while stopped and then rev your engine above 3000rpm for 10+ seconds. This should reset your IAC. Cleaning the IAC and throttle body always helps. The Throttle body gasket (last time I bought one) was $2.50 in case you wreck the old one. Hope this helps. |

| you dont need to rev to or over 3000rpm just take it for a drive after a reset, or do it by ear till you hear the revs raise and then drop thats the indercatation that the ecm has reset! |

| Maybe it's just my car. I tried driving my car straight after doing a reset and it went great till I slowed down then as I was slowing to a stop you could hear the revs drop, raise, drop again, raise again, drop then stall. Restarted, idled fine, took off, all good till I slowed again and it died. GRR. Did that reset and it was sweet. If it's got tits or wheels... |

| the only reason we say 3000rpm is because your garanteed a reset at that rpm, but I guess every 1 is different, and in all reality on idle at 3k revs is fairly hard on ya motor, there is room for all sorts of things to break, especialy when its cold lol! |

Sounds like it's hunting.
Have you checked the TPS is clean and all hooked up?
edit: Sorry- I confused Darklightening for the OP. Still though, check the throttle position sensor anyway. They can come loose and get dirty. |

| hmm good point , have achek of the sensor and the unit in your g/b make sure its not worn! I know for a fact on my first vn it was a dog to reset and displayed the same characteristics as yours, but that boiled down to the sender in my g/b being worn out! ie the ring that connects your k/b cable to the g/b, the eyelet was flogged out! if that makes sense? |
