HI,Im a new member here, and a new vn owner...... Radiator was leaking, have just bought new one and fitting it in morning, its the series 1 type, that has no radiator cap,so im wondering do i just fill it for first time through the plastic reservoir bottle, and also, guy at radiator place said make sure i get the air out of it,how do i achieve this,he mentioned something about the over flow 10mm hose, but i cant seem to find this anywhere,is it on the new radiator,or the clear plastic reservoir bottle...... All help is appreciated....... cheers.....

| yeah m8 fill the bottle slowly until it over flows a few times, also relase a bit of pressure of the hose clamp on the thermo housing (big black pipe that runs to back of motor) then run the motor that should get out any air thats in the system! |

All is done, radiator is in and on test run, seems fine,i got hold of the radiator expert in town, his theory was to take off 10mm top overflow hose at radiator, slowly fill through clear plastic filler bottle mounted on front wheel arch, until coolant starts to come out of top 10 mm outlet on radiator, once this is achived, there should be no air in system, and slide 10 mm hose back on,tighten hose clamp, and bingo, all good......Thanks for advice guys..... Cheers..... |
