I don't have a temperature guage but do run a voltmetre and oil pressure guage.
Keep in mind, if you are running a temp guage in the cabin you really want an electronic sender rather than plumbing a line to a mechanical guage. Basically, it'll prevent any nasties happening if the line splits.
Are you talking water temp, oil temp or trans temp? All should be a simple install mate.
The autometer water temp gauges are the ones im looking at ! about $50 - $60 on ebay. they are 52mm and i want to mount it on the pillar . they have mechanical and electrical ones im leaning towards the electrical one , but not sure where the sensor goes ? that would be appreciated trizo for the link thanks mate !!!
Thanks trizo , very interesting , well explained by mouse !!! i will mount it low on the dash and electrical is the only way to go. speco is another brand im looking at they seem ok i think its cheaper than buying a new dash , just for a temp gauge cheers.
I've got mine mounted in the pocket beneath the stereo- it's not the best place for visibility but I'm not racing and there isn't a whole lot of need to have them in my face when I can glance down and know all I need to know.
Pictures are in my car thread if you are looking for ideas.
Cheers mate- if you've got any questions just ask.
We did have to cut the pocket open at the rear for extra clearance and used the felt from inside of the pocket on the face to tie it in with the interior. I do need to do it again soon to replace the felt as it's pretty tired and I'm going to do away with the oil pressure guage and whack a new one in.
