Hi guys, it's been a while since i have been on, haven't had the internet, anyway, a couple of my mates installed a new water pump for me and bled the system, anyway it's been running a bit hot specially at idle in the traffic the temp guage will go to half way where as before the new pump the guage would hardly move anyway it's leaking a little bit out the the fat pipe on the left looking at the engine and it only does it at night, also my resevoir bottle on the passenger side dissapeared the last time i got a new radiator, i didn't think much of it but my mates said you need it so the system can breathe and relieve the pressure, also one of my front rotors is warped because i get brake shudder, so can i put on the standard disc 271mm the guy at repco said two different ones and did i have fe2 suspension teheheh i know buggerall, i don't think i do??? does anyone have any imput

| if theres coolant coming out of the pipe youll need to rectify whether its a hose/clamp or both... go from there as it may be your only problem as air leaking into the system will cause the coolant to boil. |
Cheers, Nodg. |

| if you have a s1 do you have your rad bottle? if not how was it modied and were is the bottle? you sed the car was done and the ovr flow was missing wtf?? Im confused... the s1 motor run of a bypass over flow (main) filler! the s2 is a straight run down the hatch rad setup so wich is it? did they try to put a s2 rad in a s1? also the s1 does run of a over flow on a secondry basis, but it is located behind the main tank (wipers) again Im am dead set vn's were made on a diff run of the mill to the w.a models (if that meens anything) I have bben workin exclusivly on vn-vp models for around ten yrs and so far I sound like a tool compared to what yu guys r saying??? am I wrong?? doubt it, but in saying that Id like to clear it up as I cant seem to win in the motor helping game.. from what I can and have gathered over a bit of time is... all vn commodores were released from factory for each state and not the buyers preferance like holden claim... am I wrong? Some 1 help me here! |

god knows what they did to it, the guy that put in the new radiator has gone out of business, i can't understand why he took the overflow tank, every s1 i have seen has the overflow bottle for a reason, but i can't seem to win any arguments when i go to these radiator specialists, this new guy ive been seeing says that i don't need an overflow but where the hell does the system relieve its pressure no wonder why the plastic is cracking its obviously the pressure.
all i have is the main resevoir bottle on the drivers side, that has one hose to the engine and one hose that goes right around to the right hand side of the radiator two garden hose type on the right hand side that would be for flow to the engine and transmission and the big radiator pipe on the left hand side. i don't think the radiator has connections to an overflow bottle, maybe it is a s2 radiator, wouldn't be a vp cause it doesn't have the radiator cap

| I had the same with my first S1 VN, it cracked the radiator, took it in to have another one put it... ZIP bye bye overflow... aparently (and this is what im told) the old S1 radiators arnt around anymore, so they have put an S2 compatable radiator into it... i personally never thought it worked quite as well, it would be normal while i was driving but as soon as i hit a light, it would **** itself... best look around for an S1 radiator... i just bought a whole new vn instead :P |
If you dont like what I say, take a valium, and go away. |
