| Quick question guys, Ive pulled the rubber strips of the outside of my car that run from front to back and theres a strip of urethan left there, how can i remove this without damaging the paint?, and will 18x8 wheels fit on a vn/vp without having to roll the guard or anything? |

Howdy Mate .. is your car an executive / berlina or a calais ? i tried this on my calais and found that there was too much and too thick to easily get through with chemicals... so i sanded it all off and resprayed me doors and guards... you may not want to do this ?
As kindly pointed out to me by fellow members with some patience and a knife you can remove most of it , and then use some prepsol or something of a heavey duty nature to remove the rest..... with the exec. and berlina you are already most of the way done , as it has much less glue on there ....
Try with just chemicals first ....and be very careful if you decide to use the knife not to damage the paint... let us know how ya go .... cheers ...!!! |

Yeah mate i understand , its a long proses !!! when you have most of it off use some rags , and scrub with prepsol to remove the last layers. give it a good buff when your done , and hopefully the paint will be a close match underneath ...
as TravisTransistor pointed out there are rubber wheels and power tools for this job to make it faster but i have not used them so am not familiar with there operation ?
Have any members done this ??....hope it goes well ....!!! |
