Hi guys, did my 95000 service today and for the first time i used Royal Purple Synthetic Oil. When the cam was done at 93000km, the oil that was put in was Castrol Magnatec, which i wasn't too happy with. I had 94500 on the clock today and i thought i will do the 95000 service. Let me tell you, that Royal Purple oil is sensational! The exhaust fumes even smell better. The motor idles so much smoother and runs alot smoother when driven. Very very happy and well worth the money.

I've never been a big fan of the Castrol Magnatec. Everyone believes that advertisements, and I just don't trust it.
I like to see proof of something like that working first.
So I use the Castrol GTX2 oil. Great.
Dad uses it in his monaro, and 2 years after he had it honed out, you can still see the proper circular honing marks, not vertical piston wear marks. Absolutely remarkable. |

Have been using Penrite on both the HZ and the VN for a few years, and neither has given me any real trouble. Will have to test run Mobil 1 when the HZ is complete |

I have seen full tests of all the oils and pictures of the wear on bearings after the tests and would never use anything but Royal Purple. Their results were so far in front of all the others it wasn't funny. Some of the name brands even had results worse than the cheap brands. Can't remember where I saw te test though - sorry :-( |
