Hey guys, i just turned 17 and have recently purchased my VN.
Now I want to slap some 18's on it. I'm just wondering if any aftermarket rims would fir my commodores stud pattern. If not, I would appreciate any information that I need to fit aftermarket rims on my car.
Thanks :D

stud pattern is 5x120, AFAIK you will fit 18x7's sweet but for 18x8 you might need adjustable panhardrod. Is it lowered? |
Just be thankful you got two legs to stand on and hands to grab sh*t with! |

it may still scrub a bit with the 18's on , but the panhard rod is a good safe bet! Welcome to the site m8! |

Thanx. How much would the panhard rod cost? I'm also planning on lowering it. |

Im in NZ so cant help with panhard rod but if your gonna lower it on 18's or 19's youl almost definitely need it. They arent to expensive thou if you add it to a decent springs/shock setup |

Thanks lemusa.
What do you think would be a good spring/shock setup? |

To lovely! Think I might go 17's for now. Seems like way less of an effort. |

There's a whole list of rims that you can get in that size. Even the current VE Omega, its standard steel rim is a 16x7 (I'm not kidding, go measure one) but they also interchange with BMWs and Jags. Any Corvette, Chev, or American GM muscle car is a close, if not perfect match as well. |

Unsure about other states, but that is true in WA as well. You're only allowed to go up to two inches in diameter bigger than what was stock |

it's the same in VIC. By the sounds of it it would be the same in every state, you'd have to check with a roadworty place or the rto. But i see people getting around with 20's on a vn here so i dunno, some people are just game i think. I paid $120 for my panhard rod a couple of years ago, and never had a problem with it scrubbing about again, even with a full tank and full car load. |
I'd gladly push my holden than drive a bloody ford! |

A car yard I used to work for specialised in HSV and FPV product, as well as "messed with" Commodores, Falcons and XRs. A selling point was fitting what I call 20 inch "bling" rims; chrome finish, and technically not legal on many of the cars they were fitted to. WA police don't have much of a sense of humour when it comes to modifying anything with two or four wheels. Mind you, it meant you could buy some HSV or FPV mags, often with good tyres, cheap! |

Mate a panhard rod is essential if you lower the car, even an inch, as it pushes the diff to one side and will end up scrubbing out wide tyres... |
Cheers, Nodg. |
