Wondering if I can take the VQ spats and put them on my VN. I know they bolt straight on to wagons but the wagon and Statesman have the same wheelbase I think (not 100% sure) and I see the extra length in a Statesman is the back window over the wheel arch. It makes me think if they will be too long or not?
I need to know ASAP if anyone knows the answer please, I have some lined up but he will sell to someone else if I dont pay for the soon and he cant tell me if they will fit or not.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I measured the distance on my VN wagon. One thing to note is that both the VQ Statesman and the VN wagon are both on the same wheelbase. From the top of the "pinstripe channel" to the nearest piece of metal on the front of the wheelarch is 510mm. At this point, the "arch already goes down about 12mm. I would suggest you check, and possibly need to shape them, but that may not be necessary |

The difference in wheelbase, I forgot to add, is not in the wheelarch, but in a space in front of the wheelarch |

I think it looks OK on a Calais, makes them look even more dumped. I have seen them on VP Calais but the molding is different and the chrome strip is in the wrong place for a VN Calais. (My car is a VN Calais btw)
Decided to pass on it as it doesnt have brackets and I would have to cut 1-2" off the length to fit, although I still like the looks of it I dont want to do a half assed bodge job.

I dont know how much time and effort the guys on other forums spent converting them but nothing lined up and definately looked like someone had added them on there, if you do decide to go ahead at a later stage give us an update an perhaps do a how-to for the site!
Do you have links to the calais (or other) commodores that have the spats added? |

VP Calais (different mold to VN)
VN Wagon without spats
VN Wagon with VQ spats (need to be cut to fit vn)
Up close look
I'm looking around more, I found some on a VN Calais the other day but searched google for at least a hour just now and cant find it again. |

Looks pretty good to me. Love the wagon. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

Wonder if anyone's ever stretched a VN wagon, given it a Caprice front end and made it into a hearse? Best non-funeral use I've heard of for a hearse was a bikie gang who owned a '57 Customline hearse. They bought a coffin, lined it with fibreglass, and this was their mobile esky |
