Have you checked to see if the radiator tanks are damaged? And is the return line to the resevoir bottle still connected properly to the radiator? Besides these two, have a look at what's in the cores itself. If there's any rust in the cores, it will jam itself in the radiator. I would be checking to make sure your radiator is structurally ok, then hoses, then how clean the cooling system is. I haven't owned my VN for as long as some of you guys, but have seen a lot since they first rolled off the production line. The radiators have plastic tanks and aluminium cores, so I'd be looking for cracks first. |

i am personally thinking it's the tanks on the side because when it over heats and the pressure builds up it has a few streams of water coming from the drivers side tank so am suspecting that may be the culprit i am only hoping it hasn't led to bigger things in the stuffed area.... can you repair the tanks or do you need a whole new radiator |

You will either have to replace tanks or complete radiator. I think last time i got prices to do tanks it was about $150. Do this if your core is still ok but if not replace the whole assembly. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

And remember to get your cooling system cleaned out when you get it repaired/replaced, to make sure there's no shale and crap clogging it up |

Luckily they have iron heads, so much harder to kill than an Ecotec. Check your thermo fan sensor too if the radiator fan isn't working. You may find you have some oil leaks from the overheating, butshouldn't be anything terminal |

No worries. Early in my career, I worked at a roadhouse called Eneabba. In summer, temperatures have been known to hit 50 degrees, so I have a really thorough knowledge of why engines overheat. There's even ring pulls embedded in the bitumen to prove it |
