Hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas! I have a few questions regarding diff gears. Has anyone on here gone bigger diff gears, and if so what size and how did they go compared to the factory size?
Really depends what gear you have and how mechanically minded you are. Also depends if you are getting just the crown wheel and pinion or an already set complete centre.
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
I went 3.45 tried to do it myself... didnt get the back lash right. Went to a diff shop and got it fully rebuilt while I was there. 3.45 compared to 3.08 is 12% difference in the speedo
yeh im considering changing my diff gears wen i get my diff rebuilt, i was just wondering if anyone new a rough price to get diff rebuilt with 3.7 gears, cheers guys
The guys that have done it before say 3.9 is good for a relitevely stock auto and 3.45 for the 5 speed manual. Depends what power your making though going too high a ratio with excess power going to the wheel is a bit of a waste...
