I know all about the required tuning as i have been down that road already as the car already runs a Microtech ecu. What i would like to know is, if i were to purchase a COME 4.3l stroker kit, what else would be required e.g would the block need machining and an engine rebuild kit. Cheers!

Well it would be better to maybe freshen the bores up with a slight over bore and the engine rebuild kit comes with the stroker kit- example.. new crank, front and rear bearings plus new pistons and rings also new rods. Theres not really much point putting new pistons and rings with an old bore. Hope this helps

Have a read through this buddy should clear up a few things for you - http://www.comeracing.com/products/rodscranks/holdenv6/holdenv6.pdf

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.

Would the slight over bore be required if the motor has 94000km on it?
VNSVLE - Thanks for the link buddy. I have seen this on the comeracing website. I might have to get a hold of comeracing and ask what they think is required because from what i know, the ecotec requires machining to fit the bigger crank, but i have read no mention of this for the VN Series 2 Buick 3800.
You guys are being very helpfull as you always have been. I look forward to more discussion on this topic :)

My honest opinion if you are going down this road is a full rebuild. If you are not confident in doing the build yourself I would be picking up one of the complete assembled packages which I beleive they use your block.
Not 100% on the machining side of things though.
Let us know what you find out from C.O.M.E. if you contact them. Would be interesting to know.

Cheers

It'a a standard thing; even if something has done limited miles, recon the entire lot, so you know it's all been done, and you don't have to replace anything prematurely.

Like benche said do it once, do it right. Full strip and rebuild or nothin.. That includes machining, honing, acid dipping, new internals and complete blueprint when its being put back together. All of the above isnt absolutely nessesary but i would if i was going to go to the extent you want to for extended life and reliability of the motor.

Cheers,
Nodg.
