I just purchased my 2nd VN (v6 wagon) after having a VS for a while. Drove back from collecting wagon (approx 700kms without a problem. Sat in garage for 2 days then took to work to show work mates and on way home it was misfiring badly. Was low on fuel so topped up, changed filter and check plugs and spark to all leads. Even went as far as removing and checking injectors which weren't too bad. Sounded better for about 5 minutes then back to as bad as before. Any clues as to where to go from here as i can't afford to spend huge sums at the mo (that comes in the future). Not afraid to get my hands dirty though. Fuel pump is "whining" ok so not electrical supply to pump. Runs ok when you first start for a few seconds then starts missing. Checked all fuses and haven't touched firing order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unsure how you check a coil pack without actually replacing one, but it might be your culprit. Running smoothly, then misfiring makes it sound like the problem may be ignition. Heat creates resistance which in turn could inhibit ignition. If you have a healthy one you can borrow, try it, and see if it makes any difference

There is a test procedure for the coils and the DFI module. If you have a multimeter and want to test them let me know and I will take you through it.
Is it a series 1 or series 2??
Good way to tell (if you are unsure) series 1 has top radiator hose running to the back drivers side of the engine, series 2 has it running to the front drivers side. Also (unless coil pack has been replaced) series 1 coil pack will be a single unit, series 2 has 3 separate units.

What's the difference between understeer and oversteer?
Understeer is when the driver is scared.
Oversteer is when the passenger is scared.
