As I have to get the odometer and trip meter fixed on the wagon anyway, I did a "test disassembly" today to find out how hard it was. Painfully easy, compared to what I was expecting. Some time in the future, I want to install cruise control, and as this is an Executive, that's not exactly "standard" equipment. I found a 12-pin plug with a black head, and wondered if this is supposed to be the connector for the factory cruise control. My question is how hard is it to fit factory cruise control to an Exec? I see the connector, but don't know where to look for everything else under the bonnet. Obviously a controller module has to be fitted, but is there some ready to connect socket there somewhere?

the 12 pin connector is either the cruise control or trip computer. I cant remember and cant be bothered going to have a look lol If the plug fits the cruise control I believe it will just work? ECU takes over the rest as far as i know

Just be thankful you got two legs to stand on and hands to grab sh*t with!

This 12-pin plug goes into a blank area on the circuit board on my car. Being an Exec, the only thing on the R/H side of the dash fascia is the hazard light switch. Any ideas where the control unit plugs in under the bonnet?

Try not to use too much force to get it open, but I had that same problem a couple of years ago. Lucky for me, I already had most of the parts in the shed to fix it. There's no avoiding it, the bonnet will have to be replaced, as the catch mount has been pushed backwards, and no amount of fiddling is likely to fix that.

See it as an opportunity to upgrade. Newer, or higher level front end. Maybe a Calais or SV grille, an excuse for new headlights, or a variety of other add ons
