I know its not a vn question but thought sombody might have an idea of my problem I recently bought a vk berlina with injected 202 was missing on no 1 cyl was told was cracked head took head off only broken valve spring . Before I knew this bought running carb 202 black just to get it drivable
put fuel injection and all accesories on carb motor but now will not run below about 2000 rpm fires when first started but then dies unless you hold throttle open have 150 compression each cyl good spark any ideas on what might be the prob would be greatly appreciated

did you leave the carby cam in by any chance most likely not efi freindly and the ecu will be way out in its tune

And does it run smoothly at 2000rpm? If not, you could have a vacuum leak, which all EFI engines are sensitive to.

I THOUGHT ABOUT THE CAM & YES RUNS SMOOTHLY AT 2000 REVS GUESS iLL JUS FIX THE VALVE SPRING ON THE ORIG ENGINE AND PUT THAT BACK IN SOMETIMES A QUICK FIX GOES A BIT PEAR SHAPED

Before you do, just check to make sure you haven't forgotten a sensor, or wrongly connected something. Just a thought, it might be something tiny you overlooked. Also, how does your throttle body look? Anything look amiss on it?
