g'day boys
the problem is: my hand brake light is constantly on, hand brake up or down it does not go away. obviously the hand brake actually works its just the sensor or the wire that has gone
just wondering: is it common? how do i fix it? what coloured wires do i need to chase? and there any dodgy plugs? is it an under car (brake rotors)or in car job (center console)
cheers guys\girls...

The switch should be around the base of the handbrake in the cab. You will need to remove the centre console to access it. Possibility that it has just come adrift and is not contacting properly. |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

I know this sounds stupid, but in the short term, try raising the handbrake lever by one tooth on the ratchet. If you can't be buggered fixing it right now, this will at least stop it from being a nuisance. My handbrake lever does exactly the same thing, and this is my "temporary fix." My handbrake works just fine, and by raising it one tooth, it doesn't engage the handbrake, but it does turn off the warning light |

That's what I thought with mine, until I noticed it on a mate's VP. Pull it up one tooth on the ratchet and try it. He's got nothing to lose |

I have seen this before on both VN and VP, and for reasons I don't understand (have never taken one of these consoles out to look at the switch itself.) So far, this method has worked for me |
