Although Rare Spares cover most parts, in conjunction with Holden themselves, I have yet to find anyone that can supply me with the interior trims that go around the back side windows on the VN-VS wagons (between tailgate and rear doors). Long story short, both are damaged on mine, and don't know the proper way to remove them, install them or source them. They're made of ABS plastic, so this makes them somewhat brittle. Anyone got any ideas, as even my service manual doesn't mention them

They are attached with plastic pins at the back, similar to ones that hold on the door trims. I broke both of mine on my previous vn as they are really brittle. Only available at the wrecker's and wagons are rarer and longer. Try removing a set of sedan ones at the wrecker's for an idea , then have a go for a wagon set. Fitting them is as easy as pushing the pins back in , remove them with something the length of a large screw driver but really wide and flat , pringing them from all directions slowly a bit at a time. Im not sure how many pins the wagon has but on the sedan there are only a few from memory about 10-20cm apart at the top and sides. I would recommend fixing your roof lining at this stage if there is any issue with sagging. Cheers.
Hope this helps someone else may be able to point you in the right direction. |

The roof lining is ok for now, although the main problem for me is the lower parts of it; the trim around the bottom of the window. They're held in by double sided spring clips, sort of like a double sided version of what holds the trim in the centre console of an auto. I'm getting the horrible impression that to do it without breaking it involves taking out a window to get at it. |

Yeah if you are talking about the strip that runs along the top of the rear screen they are damn near impossible to get off without breaking a couple of clips. They are not meant to come out unfortunately and all but impossible to find a good replacement. Not sure about ease of removal with the rear windscreen removed but if you give it a go let us know buddy :D Cheers |
What's the difference between understeer and oversteer? Understeer is when the driver is scared. Oversteer is when the passenger is scared. |

I had "attempted" to remove one side, as I needed to get the interior panel below it out in testing my demister. Half of it has no clips to hold it down. This is the big, lower section, that impossibly large bit that starts at both lower corners of the side windows.I figure there's a "right" way to do it, and hope somebody knows |
