Interested in experiences of others regarding Falken FK452, Michelin Pilot Sport 2 & Pilot Sport 3 and Goodyear F1 Asymmetric.

What tyres that provide excellent wet/dry performance & relaistic wear ie 20-25,000 km. "Wheels" tyre test in 2009 has Falken the equal of the Goodyear, which is surprising as Goodyear costs twice as much. Aother alternative is Michelin PS2/3. Everyone raves about how good the Michelin PS2 is/was but they cost a lot. The new PS3 is also receiving positive comments, some thing it to be superior to the PS2, and it costs a lot less then the PS2.

Michelin has confused the issue further by telling me the PS3 is an improved Pilot Preceda, which was lower spec tyre than the PS2, yet their publicity claims the PS3 is better than the PS2.

Falken & Michelin PS3 are $250 and Goodyear is around $350 mark. Unless I can get a better price on the Goodyear, I would need a lot of convincing to buy Goodyear. Their performance would have to be significantly better than the Falken or PS3.

PS2 are normally about $500 but as I but might be able to get them for same price as Falken/PS3, they are a consideration.

Would prefer not to broaden the tyre options, as it is hard enough to keep to these 4. Adding other tyres will only make any decision harder.

Have now spoken to Michelin & appears that pilot sport 3 is a replacement for the pilot preceda, not the pilot sport 2. PS2 will remain their performance tyre. This explains the "amazing" price, PS3 half the PS2 price. Still Michelin claims the wet weather performance of the PS3 is superior to the PS2, especially braking.

Price for Goodyear F1 Asym is $330 fitted, so looks like a choice between Michelin PS3 & Faklen FK452, $240 for the Michelin & $175 for the Falken.

These are for your VN? What size?

I'm guessing the PS3 last longer and have a nicer ride and are quieter than the Falkens.

Speaking of VN tyre prices - 205/65 15 - I just got 2 more Yokahama A-Drives. 18mths ago they were $105 each. When I a phoned a few weeks ago, same retailer wanted $145!! In the end I got 'em for the same price as the top Michelins in that size: $119 each. Perhaps the $105 was only ever an introductory price. The ones I've had seem to be wearing pretty well, with no significant feathering on the outside shoulder despite occasion spirited cornering.

About to post a pic of my tyres, pretty sweet and around $60 a tyre
Transport was only about $20 or so for the pair but he said $30 for 4 from Melbourne to my door just out of Adeliade.
These things are so sticky and soft its unreal and really really deep tread, had them about 6 months now and zero sign of wear, tons of people swear by them over at JC so thats why I gave them a try.

Looks sexy on my 15x7 ceptors too ;)
