Hey guys the metal lever on the bonet hinge thing snapped on my vn :s just wanted how i would get it open and if it is hard to change. I have a feeling im in a crap situation lol cheers

As you face the car, to the left of the hole where the bonnet catch locks onto the pin, there is a small slot. Shine a torch from underneath and you'll see what I mean.
This slot has what looks like a piece of thick wire threaded through it. very carefully (don't want to spear your aircon radiator accidently) push that wire out of the slot. It will put up a fight. If you managed to get that wire out, the bonnet will open as if you pulled the catch.

If you can reach the screws along the top of your grille, you might be able to wriggle it out of the way. Don't force it, or you'll break the pins along the bottom that hold it in the bumper. that will give you some room from the front to get at the spring, which is the end of the wire in the slot.
