Getting at the spark plugs can be a bit of a bitch of a job in the VN, just because of how 'busy' that area of the engine is (on the drivers side anyway).
1) To make it easy on yourself, start by taking out the air intake pipe on the passenger side, a phillips head screwdriver for the hose clamps and a 10mm socket for the bolt holding it to the wheel arch. 2) Working on one plug at a time, pull the ignition lead off the spark plug (don't pull the lead, pull the rubber boot at the end of the lead), then using a spark plug socket just unscrew the spark plug. 3) Before inserting the new one, make sure the gap is set to 1.5mm, torque it up to 30Nm and push the rubber boot back on until you feel it 'clip' on. 4) Move onto the next plug.
When you're done, don't forget to put the air intake pipe back in, and reset the ECU.
Sorry I can't offer any handy hints on the drivers side, it's just a case of getting your hand in there and pulling the boot off, but there's less room to do it. I've never managed to do mine without losing a bit of skin from some of the sharp edges :( |

| When you say torque it up to 30Nm or anywhere else in the forum is it fairly standard that most people have torque wrenchs? |

| when working on a car it's normally a good idea to have access to a torque wrench, because there's a lot of sensors/bolts that need to be done to the correct torque. I wouldn't say that it's a 'standard' piece of kit to have lying around in your average backyard garage, but I'm pretty sure that by asking around, everyone would have access to one (friend-of-a-friend type of deal). |

He sees an old man and says “See we’ll part with your hard, Earned cash or rest in peace we can start with your heart. Some girl steps not afraid she’s gonna cop it sweet, And gets decked before she made it even on her feet, The old man leaped to her aid and to his horror he’d, Thrusted his chest into the blade of his robber s piece, He grabbed the wallet, dropped the knife as he fled the car, Concerned about the loss of life he’d never went this far, What’s done is done, he’d got the prize and he’d spent his half, Of two dollars in change and a pension card. |
